Rank algorithm update from google weeded out a lot of good or bad websites,   in the hope of offering it’s search users better results, on official google blog it is estimated 11.8% search results will be affected by this update, in plain English, there are about 12% of google search results are considered low quality by google itself. They planned and started the update about one year ago, and recently I see some of my ranks were lowered considerably, the good thing is that those keywords promoted by content rich links are not affected, some of the keywords even ranked better than before, it’s almost a sure thing that plain link building loses all it’s attraction, at least in the eye of google.

So what exactly is linking campaign the old way? a lot of marketing companies did and are doing the plain link building, they add your links to those linking websites without context, the only updates on those websites are the new links, almost all of them are garbage, we call these sites link spamming sites. Now google algorithm probably will weed out these sites, the links on those spamming sites won’t work anymore.  

Let’s check out a few examples. In the very beginning, I didn’t know better, I started with this keyword, Ratchet Load Binder, it was old way of link building all the way, lately I figured that every site in the campaign had way too many links, and the worst thing is that those sites are linking sites only and had no content, not even crap content. This strategy worked in the beginning, lately the keyword link stayed on the first page for a while, this was the case until google made the change. Now let’s look at another keyword, chain puller , we promoted this keyword with articles and blog posts, not too many plain links have been built, now we have really good ranking for this keyword. Now contextual links win the battle, then what? Actually this is all about content, as long as you dole out high quality content, your rank will improve over time, since search engines are another kind of readers. How do you do it? Writing articles and building blogs, such as this interesting blog, baby stroller , I build it as a hobby and kept adding good or mediocre content, and to my surprise, I have high ranks for some of  competitive keywords. As we can see, creating quality content and blog marketing is what we have to do to get great result. Say you’re building your own bogging network, something like Machine Chain, then it will be easier to do article marketing.

At the end of day all you need to do is to create attractive content, share the content with people, in the mean time advertise your business with your content, as long as you don’t stop doing this, you will win over customers and search engines. Whatever you do, you will need persistence and patience, nothing will automatically improve overnight, be it your business or search rankings, now all we need to do is to share our love for creating and sharing nice content and not to worry about the ranking all the time. By the way, we have hot social media now, no one can afford to not using them. One thing you can do for your blogs is to install twitter tools, sign up for a twitter account and create a new application, configure your twitter tools prpperly, then make sure every new post will post a new tweet, it’s real easy and useful, it’s a big loss if you don’t use this tool.
